Calendula CO2 Extract (Organic)
Almost like an essential oil version of our Organic Calendula Oil, this highly-concentrated, botanical Calendula CO2 Extract is well known for its healing properties.
Extracted with CO2 gas (Carbon Dioxide), this is the purest and gentlest way of making Botanical Extracts without the use of either heat or solvents. This extract is very concentrated as it is a full extraction, which includes the Essential Oil as well as the fat-soluble and water-soluble substances from the plants.
This extract is free of heavy metals, microbes, solvents and preservatives. Botanical CO2 Extracts are a very affordable way to add high potency therapeutic benefits to your products.
Also known as Marigold CO2 Extract, this extract is 1 part Calendula CO2 Extract in 9 parts of Organic Jojoba Oil to make the Extract pourable. 17-20kg of the Marigold flowers is used to make 1kg of the CO2 Extract.
Appearance
A dark red-brown substance with a waxy consistency but liquid at 40°C and has a characteristic hay-like smell.
How To Use
Can be used in both water (not purely water-based products as it is oil-based and so will not mix) and oil-based products.
Can also be added (without any heating required) to ready-made products such as gels, lotions, creams, shampoos, liquid soaps and body washes.
